As a default, the check box is selected and iolo AntiVirus periodically checks for updates. If an update is found, it will be downloaded.

• To turn off the automatic checking, clear the check box. You can still check for updates when you wish, by clicking Check for updates on the Home page.

• To return to having iolo AntiVirus automatically check for updates, select the check box.

Click the link to display additional options. Options are:

• Automatically detect proxy server settings (default). This is the default selection. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy server, you can select this option. iolo AntiVirus will detect settings for the primary proxy server and will automatically use other proxies if the primary proxy is unavailable.

• Do not use a proxy server to connect to the Internet. If you do not connect to the Internet through a proxy server, select this option.

• Use specific proxy server settings. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy server, you can select this option if you need to configure its settings. With this check box selected, the following fields appear, allowing you to enter information about the proxy server.

 

When you are finished making your changes, click Done.

• Proxy server. Enter the IP address or domain address of the proxy server. An entry is required.

• Port. Enter the port number of the proxy server. An entry is required.

• Proxy requires authentication. Select the check box if the proxy server requires authentication. Once selected, the User Name and Password fields appear. Type in the appropriate user name and password.
